The first of many
No matter how hard you try as a mother your kids still get hurt and still fall down. This little monkey was Bailey. It happened Dec. 4th. I was on the phone scheduling an apointment and steve was answering the door when just before we were done we hear a big scream. I came into our office to find Bailey laying on her back with a cry and a look on her face that said "I really have an ouwee". I didn't pick her up right away because I knew something hurt. I tried to calm her down and ask her were her ouwee was. She pointed to her arm and the first thought I had was she either broke her elbow bone or dislocated her shoulder. I carefully picker her up, gave her some tylenol and held her til she fell asleep.
The next day we took her to the insta care to get it looked at. She didn't want to reach with her right arm. The first couple of x-ray showed nothing. But we both knew something wasn't right. So the doc told us to come back in a couple of days and then we will be able to see where the hair line fracture was go from there.
This is what we saw when we went back!
she was such a good patient. She let us do what we needed to do to get a picture with only a little whimper when it hurt.
We were finally done and Bailey was tired and this was her "I want to go home" face.
The only way they fix broken collar bones for kids is to put them in a "figure 8" to help hold the shoulder in position and let the bone heal. Kids bones are growing so fast and are so fexable that they don't need to do much, it will heal itself.
Are next check-up is January 6th and we will see how it has healed.
