A little Vacation

With all the heat, we found some ways to get a break form it and have a little fun. It started with Steve helping with the Aaronic Priestood Training Camp up at Porcupine Dam for 4 days. They had a family night with dinner so we loaded up and made a stop on the way to throw some rocks in the water.

The next we headed up to Yellowstone and camped out right between both the Teton and Yellowstone parks called Flagstaff campground. The girls loved sleeping in the tent and seeing all the animals. Each night before bed MaKenna loved to get in the "hut" and put her pj's on and jump on her bed. We took both of their mattresses and our blow-up bed. Probably the most comfortable way to camp with small kids. This trip was also exciting for us because we saw 8 grizzly bears! That's right we say 2 momma grizzlies with their cubs. The pictures with the small dots are the ones with the bears in them.

The best part of the whole trip was seeing the girls squeal and laugh and bring me thousands of rocks, flowers (aka "weeds") and getting so dirty everyday! They loved seeing the Buffalo, Elk, Birds, playing in the water and MaKenna wanting to sleep with daddy and Bailey reaching for mommy to hold her and put her to sleep.
At the end of it all, the last destination we made was the famous Bubba's BBQ! They have the best BBQ ribs and bring a stack of wet rags to clean your face when you are done and believe me you need them. Fun was had by all!!!

Old Faithful getting ready to blow!

Our Momma Grizzly and her cubs on the northeast side of Yellowstone Park.

We pulled up around the corner to see this! Buffalo's are pretty good swimmers.

Like the bugs on the windshield? We waited for the rest of the huge herd to cross the road and go through the river too.

This one was alone eating right by the road.

Mommy and Bailey looking at "Dragon's Mouth".

Daddy and MaKenna at "Dragon's Mouth". MaKenna loved riding in that backpack.

Watching the bubbles at the "mud pots".

Bailey taking a turn in the backpack at the Teton National Park by Jenny Lake.

Looking at the Teton peak.

Doing what we do best, playing and throwing rocks in the water below the Tetons.
We love the water!

A tradition for our Yellowstone trip. Bubba's in Jacksonhole is the best place in town for some yummy BBQ ribs and such!

Waiting in line to be seated at Bubba's and found a friendly bear.
