Celebration!
As most of you know, Steve has been battling a big wound in his right leg due to a staph infection for the past couple of months. When the surgery was done he came home with a what they call a "vac" hooked to his leg to continue suction of the fluid and prevent any more infection. After 6 weeks of nurses coming to change the packing to the "vac" and going to the doctor and told not to work, he is finally done packing around the pump!!! The wound is still closing itself but the big, major part of over. He now just packs it with bandages to keep it clean. This all came about because of a big bruise he got when he slipped through a four wheeler ramp back in July. The blood and fluid from the bruise didn't fully absorb back and created the infection. So...he's had quite a year but we are grateful for the technology that is out there to help us overcome this episodes and move on with life. Now we are looking forward to the holidays with no more accidents or surgeries and welcoming our baby girl in January.
